Barnstaple has a published collection of election ephemera: A collection of the addresses, squibs, etc., which were circulated in reference to the election of Members to serve in Parliament for the Borough of Barnstaple in the year 1832. To which is added, a correct list of the voters who polled on that occasion (Barnstaple : Cornish , 1833) and this forms the basis of the listing for this constituency. Dates have been tentatively assigned to undated items based on their position in Cornish's publication. Unfortunately the name of the printer is not given. It is hoped that this, and details of ephemera printed for other elections, will be found when examining the rich collections of the North Devon Athenaeum in Barnstaple. Details of ephemera have been extracted from the on-line catalogue but original items have not been checked. There were several enquiries into corruption for Barnstaple, and publications dealing with this are also selectively listed here.
