Eaton, Daniel Isaac. Geo. Houston, the author of a blasphemous book entitled Ecce homo was sentenced to be imprisoned two years in Newgate and to pay a fine of 200l. This is the person given up as the author of the infamous work in question by the late D. Isaac Eaton, who was convicted as its publisher (Morning Chron. 15 Nov 1814) Acutally the translator; the author was Paul Henri Thiry, Braron d'Holbach.

Eglin, Septimus. ... in the Commission of Bankrupt ... against Septimus Eglin and Sarah Pepys, late of Chiswell-Street, in the Parish of St. Luke, Old-Street ... Sarah Pepys hath in all things conformed herself ... her certificate will be confirmed on or before the 13th day of August (London Gazette 23 Jul 1799)

Elisha, James. Amicable Society for a Perpetual Assurance ... to pay claims due by death of the several persons here undermentioned, viz. James Elsha, late of Houndsditch, London, bookbinder (Daily Advertiser 17 Jul 1753). In the Guildhall library there is a marriage allegation dated 27 Jan 1736/7 for St catherine's near the Tower. There is also a bond of the same date for James Elisha widower and bookbinder living in the parish of St Botolph Aldgate. He married Mary Jones of the St Olaves parish, Southwark. His first wife was probably Martha, and she and their four children were dead by 1735. On three of their baptisms his address is Houndsditch. Supplementary information from Sandra Caton, March 2008.

Ellis, Mr. On Thursday [25 Jan] died suddenly in his chair, at his house in St. Alban's-street, Mr. Ellis, an eminent stationer (Daily Advertiser 27 Jan 1753)

Elvey, John. The partnership between John Elvey and Thomas Green of No. 93, Oxford-street, pocket-book-makers, was dissolved March 8, 1799. Thomas Green to receive and discharge all debts.
